About the Play:
In this exciting and approachable reimagining of Romeo & Juliet, multi–Dora Award–winning composer Landon Doak joins forces with Bluebirds director Iain Moggach to present Shakespeare’s most iconic love story in a bold new way.
Blending live music throughout, this intimate production focuses on the emotional core of the tale—two young people torn between loyalty and love. It’s a moving, close-to-the-heart theatre experience that resonates whether you’re a lifelong Shakespeare fan or discovering the story for the first time.
Originally staged at Old Flame Brewery a decade ago, this updated remount has been thoughtfully reimagined for the unique setting of Theatre on the Ridge tent.
Alongside public performances, a limited number of school packages are available in partnership with Scugog Shores Museum Village.
Suitable for ages 12 +. Content warning: stage violence and suicide.
Romeo & Juliet is made possible with support from the Kellett Patrick Family Foundation
